We have been Learning Guitar Backwards

I have been playing the guitar for over 10 years, and it is only now that i am spending a lot more time in the company of musicians that i am realising cheat mode. We all learn basic chords very early.. C D Em G maybe an A.. but if we were taught triads, melodys and the more simple bar chords at the start, it would save us so much time... Maybe i should start teaching ..........
